Hiding

by Loveless Dreamer   May 17, 2012

Life passes by
not skipping a single beat
the wandering faces of my peers
my head down low
looking down so no one will see
hiding

classes drag on
time taking it's sweet time
the voices around me fade
my eyes fighting back tears
the pain inside becoming unbearable
hiding

house is quiet
not a single peep
the darkness consuming my body
the sound of my steady heartbeat
slowly and slowly it becomes
hiding

life goes on
forgetting those who've passed
the lingering spirits of loved ones
the tears spilling over
pain overtaking control
hiding

halls are packed
everyone trying to get to class
the faces catching my own
my head held high
the pain slowly blooming
im no longer hiding

my home is seemingly loud
laughter and chatter filling each room
the lights flying across the room
i hear a strange sound; happiness in my voice
it's done; pain gone
im no longer hiding

life went on
everyone slowly remembering
the unlively sounds of their whispering voices
it's quite enticing
no longer hiding
