Part of the Game.

by Steven Beesley   May 22, 2012

Memories flooding back,
visions of yesteryear
seemed like only
minutes before.

If time could be
turned back to
where I once
was before!

Could I afford to
make decisions differently
or the same as
I did before?

Would life be any kinder
or different, would
my friends be
still the same?

Tomorrow seems distant,
fleeting like a dream.
It is all the same,
part of life's game.

    Life is a gamble
if we don't play, we can't win
if we could go back in time
would we do things different?Who knows

this piece reminds me of a poem I wrote
a while back If only I could go back in time

  • So very true.
I am sure every person has thought about this: the what ifs? But why bother, when we have made our choices and are now in the present unable to turn back time in order to change our path.
Very well penned! Hope to read more from you.

I love your poem...as it is so relatable to us humans. Life is indeed a game and we are the players in it. A touching write, very well penned :)

Keep the ink flowing Steve! :D

Nice to see you post a poem after such a long time. Cindy will be sorry she has missed it. It does seem that all things are repeats and are part of life's game. Very nice read.
