Syllable Sisters (English Sonnet)

by Maple Tree   May 27, 2012

Soft, summer winds leave me isolated
trapped between ebony nights, balmy days
swirls of thoughts become annihilated
spotlight of sorrow, fading by moon rays.

Running across meadows of silky grass
uniting with the sisters of the stars
painting our sadness with a touch of sass
weaving tear drops in stanzas, sweet memoirs.

Angelic flowers, spinning pearled daydreams
webbed memories, laced with emerald leaves
becoming a garden of dancing queens
tossing pain into the river of thieves.

Whispering goodbye with poetic grace
ending this song with a smile on our face.

*For the girls of poetry... "My Syllable Sisters" :-)

This is amazing Andrea, sonnets are one of the finest forms of formed poetry and I think you penned it in this piece. And what an idea you came up with, every poetess will be proud after reading your piece. And the title?? One of the most creative and capturing titles I ever read. Loved it !!
