Senses Of A Broken Heart (collab)

by Meme & Naughtymouse   Jun 3, 2012

I can still smell your scent
on the pillow next to me.
Flooding me with memories
of love that used to be.

I can still hear your whispers
every time I close my eyes.
Narcotizing the dreams I have
leaving me with those cries.

I can still feel your touch
the warmth of skin to skin.
But now there's only me
and this hollow feeling within.

I can still taste the bitterness
of silence in your last goodbye.
You never said anything, you
just walked away with a sigh.

I can still see your ghost in every
mirrored reflection of me.
Haunting the moments of my
night, never setting me free.

Wow, I feel like it's been ages since I've seen a collab!

Well done with this one guys! The rhyming flowed well and wasn't forced. I love the sadness of the poem, it was awesome.

    Awesome write both of you!

A very nice rhyme! I have to agree with Lostlove, so little 'poems' rhyme these days being replaced by so called 'free verse', which to me is not a true poem at all, often just a collection of 'written statements' strung together. This one however is a real poem, with all the skill that this rhyme takes to put this together. A sad poem, but a good read.
Keep writing your great poems that rhyme!
You're saving real poetry as it should be written.
    Well done!

This is heartbreaking ya Meme and Naughtymouse. The rhymes subtle and well-flowing. That's exactly how I feel these days.
