Sorry excuse

by Dagmar Wilson   Jun 30, 2012

You promised me to help
our child in need
once again, you lied
leaving us hanging and
dealing with this extreme crisis
it was you
bringing us over here
only, to walk the other way

You are a sorry excuse
for a man and father
and that new wife of yours
must have you by the balls

I have no choice other
than standing tall and strong
doing whatever it takes
to help my child
you and your wife
will not break me down

That is one of my worst fears... is to have a child and then have the father abandon us. It's truly something I hope I never have to experience and I'm so sorry you are going through it. He is just like you said, a sorry excuse. I will never understand how someone can just walk out and not look back on their own child. :/

There is definitely sadness in this poem but there is also strength. I can see that you have gone through something in life that was very difficult but by the sounds of it, you are a strong person who has come out a winner in the end. You have your daughter with you which is the best thing for the both of you. Of course that would never take away the hurt and pain of what it sounds like your ex has given you, and for this I am sorry.

I enjoyed reading this because of you opening up a little more in your poems, we get to know you better.

    Awesome write

You sure know how to put such a sad story in such a wonderful, yet so sad and at end promising poem! I just wish the best for you, stay strong there and keep it up, I`m sure you can do it there!

I, too was thinking whether I should leave any comment or not. This is definitely one of the saddest poems I've read by you, and it does break my heart to read this.
I'm sorry, but know that just by writing and submitting this, you are strong. The ending 'will not break me down' is so powerful and hopeful. I absolutely admire your strength and your writes. Never stop. Keep strong~
