Guns and Roses

by Sunshine & Decayed   Jul 3, 2012

When I curved rainbows
behind your horizons,
and green fields around
your unsecured soul,
watering roses down your
bare feet,
when I sowed life within
your lifeless cave,
trust me I knew-
you'd shoot me dead,
one day.

Like when the sun
doesn't shine on time,
and guns tempt your spine,
you'd feel you were raised
to be unsafe, unsound.

Guns spark a losing war,
and roses bloom to be torn
above hearts' cemeteries
of mourning rainbows.

Two of my favourite people collaborate! OMG I knew I had to read this....It is amazing...and seriously I'm not just saying that cos it's you two...Really, this is one of the strangely wonderful poems I have ever read, because it mixes the bad with beauty and such elegance...I just felt so unreal while reading it.

I have no idea who wrote what...and I love that, the suspense about it and the fact that there are so many lines to blow me away...

    Great work, guys

    Love ya lots

Well at first when I saw the title I thought you were talking about the band but then I read the poem and I was like :O

I love the title actually, it makes me think of something so destructive and harmful with something beautiful such as a rose. The images itself is awesome. It kind of reminds me of the song that guns n roses sing and at the end of the clip there are all these flowers on the ground after something bad had happened, I don't know why that image came to me but either way, that was only from the title.

The sadness in the words are evident. I love collabs where you can't tell who wrote which part, because it just keeps me guessing.

I thought of two things that this poem could be about - the first thing was talking about people who give everything in a relationship, who put their whole lives into it but don't get anything in return. As in you try to make this person happy but they end up bringing you down.

The other thing that came to mind was talking about your country. How you love your country but because of the wars that go on, you may feel betrayed by your own people.

I am not sure entirely but what I do know is that I love the fact that more than one came to mind. It means I get to read the poem again and keep thinking about it.

You guys did an awesome job with this collab!!! Well done the two of you!

    AWESOME POEM
