Memoir of a Homicide Victim

by Maple Tree   Jul 5, 2012

You left me standing alone

allowing me to vanish,

facing the afterlife

with unearthly devastation,

trapped within this mausoleum

between shadow and light.

crossing over,

forbidden-

I crave revenge

becoming a phantom

of your soul,

gruesome details

of my departure

shall be embedded

within your psychotic

crypt of feelings,

you are now my puppet-

listen closely,

the cadaver whispers....

I love the layout of the poem, the breaks between the lines, making me take my time to read it and sink in every word.

Ok this was not an ok poem for me to read, its storming here, the lights are flickering and this was creepy LOL

I loved this piece though. I admire that you can write a dark piece so well. its all in the wording, I can't seem to find an amazing way to word a dark piece like you have done here.
