Clean life

by Khalid M Darwish   Aug 3, 2012

This air we breath
Which fills our lungs
This air we breath
Which dries our tongues

We clean it not
Though clean we should
Its waste we plot
For life's bad end

Unless we prevent the cigarettes
we won't be our fresh-air wealthy
Unless we ban smokes aggregates
it won't make us feel healthy

Our air we fill,
With smoke and death;
Ourselves we kill,
For lack of breath

Even the sea
Full of the waste
How hard to be
Feeling the taste

Even the soil
Full of garbage
bears things we spoil
causing our rage

    5/5 stunning

  • I LOVE this!!

The message is clear and concise - and a damn good message to spread word about!

The flow was really good except for that third stanza. Though I see its purpose, it kind of stuck out like a sore thumb.... And the last line of that third stanza -- 'feeling' doesn't really work - perhaps try 'feel at all healthy' or even just 'feel' actually...

Great rhyming throughout, and a very powerful write.

    Well penned. 5/5

We pollute not only Mother Nature but also our won bodies, sometimes without realizing it.

Very strong poem to put this issue in the spotlight. Good job!
