Wild flowers blooming,
freshly picked dewy blackberries,
Kentucky's finest spring.

Well you took me to Kentucky! Now I feel like I want to go there... NOW! Because I love nature as you know, blackberries are yummy, and wild flowers are divine.. I could picture myself basking in the flowers eating berries and to me that would be the PERFECT vacation that I really need right now... If this Haiku was on the brochure of Welcome to Kentucky and what it has to offer, you would attract a ton of tourists! <3

Love this! The imagery jumps right out of the screen. I seriously want to go outside and pick flowers right now, and when imagery can evoke emotions and physically motivate you, then it's very special. Great work, Hannah!

    This poem is refreshing.

Being that I'm from Australia I have no idea about Kentucky and yet you managed to describe it so beautifully in such a short piece. I feel like you're a poet who knows how to use all the readers senses, this poem had scent, it had a lovely sight. What more could you ask for in a Haiku.

I found the syllable count off myself but as Britt said being that we are from all different places of the world sometimes accents can cause a problem when counting.

    Lovely poem none the less

I love this piece, what beautiful images and a really fresh feel of nature and Kentucky!

One thing though is I can't come up with the syllables to be an actual haiku.... I have an "accent" on here to some people and count funny so maybe thats it.. lol.

  • A beautiful little piece. Need I say more?
