A Blood Stained Memory

by A Poets Handwriting aka ALISHA   Aug 11, 2012

My body can just disappear
amongst the blood ribboned waters...
and no one would know
except I am missing...

A red rose petal floating...
its silky folds sinking slowly
as it absorbs the water of the past
the memories no longer heard...

Captured by its steely gaze
My body freezes in pure fear
My heart colliding with my ribcage
as it beats faster... faster...

A feather falls to its demise
Drifting in the winds of yesterday
Lost forever; there's no return
It drops to the waters far below...

Taken within its jagged jaws
My body is torn into pieces
Flesh ripped from my bones
Blood spills into the waters...

A stone stained with blood
The blood a representative
A memory of what was
Of the moment it all ended

My death is complete....
My soul eternally lost...
My body has been defeated
Will I ever be remembered?

A rose petal for all the love
A feather to indicate freedom
A stone - an unyielding forever
I am remembered; they do care
