    Noura,
As painful as it was to write this, I feel you have created beauty out of brutality.
The analogy of your father as hard dry bread speaks volumes of your relationship. Sadly, your dread of putting up with with his old age was a feeling I know you would gladly endure now.

You describe him as brutal but not abusive. He sounds no-nonsence rather than cruel.
I do believe he misjudged you though. You are not close to fragile. You have shown strength throughout this ordeal.

    Noura,

From this poem, I feel you, and your Facebook Status too, confirmed what I had known all along.

You are strong, your poetry is immensely powerful...heartbreakingly sad and gracious.

I only can second what Larry said, that this poem is beautiful, in it's heartbreak and sadness, grief and anger, it has produced something worth cherishing

    Love always, my friend
    hugs and best wishes

Noura! You reminded me of my father who died more than two decades ago and my mother who died one decade ago. I had the same feelings, left as an orphan. How cruel is the life! It takes the dearest and leaves only their prints accompanied with rivers of tears. What keeps us strong should be our faith in God who told us that this is just our perishable life while promising us of the other eternal life in which we should believe. Noura I know what you expressed does not even equal one tenth of your actual feelings which I share with you. May God bless him and all our martyrs.
I support every word you penned.

Very powerful, I liked your choice of layout too and how you broke it up.

I thought you done an amazing job with this and it shows a very high talent to write such perfect words about such a heartbreaking emotion and topic. Well done.

This piece definitely deserved the win,
I know your father would love this piece and he is looking down at you now, saying "That's my daughter".

You really are a beautiful and talented young woman...who is loved deeply.

"I thought you were brutal but I know now
that the absence of Winter is even more
    harsh than Winter."

"WoW!" Is the only word I could remember at the end of the day!
