Light Me Up

by Maple Tree   Sep 15, 2012

Drunk again on your tomorrows,
choir of dragonflies sweetly
mandolin my heart in song.

You ignite a withering soul
with your nitroglycerin whispers,
kissing me in shadows,
between the rise and fall of autumn-

The falling leaves of golden yellow
devour our lovers ballad, however,
the excitement of our first kiss sparks
a fever within, that sends me
back to that July embrace,
and our midnight explosion.
