A Person Like You

by malina   Oct 6, 2012

If the world began to burn and hell washed over
I'd make sure my last words are the last to ring in your ears
No matter where I stood or where your feet had taken you
Those three words that I've waited to hear are worth a million tears

If they're meant to be true when spoken
I would take it and bury it deep inside of me
No longer letting anyone one, including you to take them away
Even if the pain in my blood begins to slowly seep

You've enclosed yourself in an unbreakable metal chamber
Not willing to let me see nor hear your unforgiving thoughts
Patiently waiting for the door to open for my grand entrance to heal you
Yet emptiness was all that was left and with half of me, you were gone

Now that I've found the missing part of me and you again
I'll sow them together and hide it far away from a person like you
A person unwilling to love because of fear and rather, remain in utter denial
Not realizing you've already taken all of me, yes, a person like you
