Nice write, this piece is thought provoking it makes the readers think about how much the world has changed and speculate about where it's heading.

Each day things change and the time that has pass you can't get, so many people like to think of reincarnation because they would like to undo the past or live again.

    Great poem.

Two lines that I thought would make out two distinct quotes in this piece are: "A heart filled with dreams and love

is often guided by stars above."
"For a new creation to be enjoyed

    another world must be destroyed"

    & i agree with Autuumnbree...!:)
    It's a 5/5 from me...!:)

This indeed is a thought after write... Its flow being perfect and the thought flow structured too, I get your message well and enjoy the message...
It true we all have to live through all these inventions and how days pass by...

For a new creation to be enjoyed
    another world must be destroyed
Though many years have come and gone
    each new calendar travels on

As you said that Fav verse will help you, I found these lines as the best part of the poem.....
It contains the entire gist of the poem and I like the way you conclude your thought and it seems merry to me....Dont know why:/
All and all, An excellent piece:)

For a new creation to be enjoyed
    another world must be destroyed

^ It's futile to say that those are my favorite lines since everyone else mentioned them, however they are, I have heard them before but in a different way and with different examples/ topics.

So to see them being used in this poem was refreshing, because like I said before they are different.

When I read them, my first though is how selfish one is. I think about nature and how we are destroying it to create our buildings and highways and pretty much to create our commodities. So in that sense, I don't know if new creations are for the better or if they are for the worst.

which puzzles me, and I get more puzzle due to the title, the new millennium. How will the future be if we continue to destroy nature to have our new creations?

Though, when I read the poem I don't think it's about what I just mentioned above, but I felt like sharing what went through my mind as well as how those sentences ( not the exact sentence but a bit different) have been used before. Which were used in reference to nature.

    Now to the poem.

I thought that this poem was more about, taking a risk. That is better for everyone to go in a search and find who we are. Though, one must do so with love and having dreams that our search will be guided by the stars per se. Kind of like, whatever you do, do it because you want. Other wise, don't even try.

And the way, I interpret the part about :

" for a new creation to be enjoyed
    another world must be destroyed"

For a new you to be enjoyed, you must let go of the past.
live on in the present, you have more days to come.

I love this!! I have never read poetry that I would call educational yet this tells a story too. It's a lesson and an art form, different but very enjoyable.

Wow I love this poem! I really enjoyed it. First, I like the historical aspect of it. I think this story in particular is really something people still think about... It is strange how they came in and took the Native Americans' home in a sense. I also like the comparison to the "theory" that the world will come to an end soon. I really liked your ending.

"For a new creation to be enjoyed
    another world must be destroyed
Though many years have come and gone
    each new calendar travels on"

^^ I really feel like you taught us a valuable lesson here. Sometimes this is true... the world has to come to an end, in order for us to start our next journey... depending on one another's beliefs.

    Great job!

Very witty..in a subtle way, as usual Mike!

Everyone seems to be focusing on other lines but..this one held my interest...

    each new calendar travels on

What about the Mayan Calendar....if you believe in that one....your ship's about to sink :)

This is very unique and witty. I adore the historical, I think this is the first piece that I've read on this site that has some type of history behind it. Or at least this is the only one that has stuck out for me. lol

Although this does have the history in it, I think it has a deeper meaning. Christopher Columbus and Marco Polo went on a search... so I think you mean that everyone needs to search, follow their dreams... take that risk because life is too short to sit on the sidelines and pout because of unhappiness.

I enjoyed this a lot, the rhyme scheme was spot on and flowed wonderfully!
