A Cradled Thought

by BlueEyedMystery   Dec 27, 2012

It seems as if
all the manic power
once held in my marrow
has been sucked dry.

Whether it be from
the scalding sun
of summer
or skulking predator
I don't know.

But today,
I'll endeavor
to sing this melody
that I've yearned
for so long.

Because the bite
in the frost
that swims through
the air makes me
want to breathe.

So I'll cradle
this thought.
Hold it with all
the desperation in
the world.

So it can sprout
into something
magnificent.

And maybe,
just maybe,
I'll be able to feel
the warm rush of a
whispered dream
explode through
my veins.

And I'll be me
Once again.
