Loneliness

by James Weatherbee   Jan 2, 2013

Loneliness is a disease
That spreads through the heart
When will it end
Where did it start
Loneliness spreads through
Your entire being
It corrupts thoughts
It manipulates what you are seeing
It steals smiles
Replacing with a frown
Surrounded by people
But so alone in a town
Smiles all around
Which ones are real
Is it happiness
We really feel
A single kind word
Can be the light
To free you from the loneliness
Of a truly dark night.
