I Wrote You A Letter

by Anthony Harder   Jan 17, 2013

I wrote you a letter, expecting no reply
I waited by the mailbox, although I cannot tell you why
I wrote you a letter, a tell-all of tales
I waited by the mailbox, although I never got your mail
I wrote you a letter, hoping you would see
I waited by the mailbox, although I knew I shouldn't be
I wrote you a letter, saying all things that are true
I waited by the mailbox, although I never sent that letter off to you

There's sadness in this poem, when you describing how the other person wouldn't bother to return their mail to you, I think? But I have to say, it's quite interesting how the simplicity in this poem can actually make me smile and I feel this poem for a while. Nice work, Anthony!
