Rekindle The Beats

by Meme   Jan 21, 2013

I declared a missing piece
of me earlier, but I never
expected to find it right
there. So tell me stranger
what are you doing with
my heart tonight?

I thought a decade would
erase the way you touched
it, or at least would teach
me how to keep it from being
stolen again
.
.
but oh boy how wrong was I!

Ten feet apart and for
ten minutes in each others
presence, as if each one
had compensated for a
lost year for you and I,
I felt your eyes tracing
the distance in between.

So I am back staring at
a memory that has been
on lockdown for who
knows how long; maybe
you do, or maybe I now
understand that this heart
of mine was always meant
to be yours.

--

Soon .. soon I will stand
before you, and for only
you I will verbalize.

Yes darling, I love you still
and loving you I always
had and always will..

Like seriously, the first part already melt me down from the inside. The feeling of unknown, wondering, and desire (perhaps) in this piece just made this piece sounds unreasonably beautiful. I love this!

Brilliant piece and to me it had a good beat to it, which was interesting. (there's not a lot of poems that has a visible beat without being hopelessly cut to size)

    Amazing :)

    O.O...+.+...@.@!!!

    This is beautiful Meme...

It has a movie imagery to it, your enchanting vocabulary leading to the happy ending. I haven't read love poetry like this for a while... the title got me and the rest of the piece left me smiling, whilst thinking to myself " you go girl" :)
