OH MY Andrea, This was heartbreaking, I just want to reach out and hug you...the sadness here is evident, its plain emotion that is so powerful and the whole thing is amazing.
It took my breath away, and you penned it perfectly, that sadness and fear you feel for the future and the unknown, and I can't imagine that fear but I suspect that it is a scary prospect of living without the one you love,

    Hugs and Love, x

Very powerful, very felt. A lot of emotions in this poem, outstanding. My favorite stanza by far is...

    'Watching the living
    wither before me,
    has me confronting
    a darkness that I
    have refused to
    accept myself.'

So very much said in that. You're such a wonderful writer.

    Dripping in the
    essence of silence
    as become a
    rhythmic
    routine.

    - by as, do you mean has?
    - this opens the poem with a tone of deep sadness from your heart and shows that this emotion is not new on you but rather one of a routine which has been lingering with you for quite some time now.

    Death is a
    natural cycle
    of life itself,
    but grieving
    leaves me
    speechless.

    - this is such a true fact, it happens so much and so often and we have no control over it but yet it is so hard to accept and grieve. It reminds me a bit of Bhudda's and how they live their lives not getting attached to things because they know they don't last forever. It's at times like what you are describing here I wish I was strong enough to live this way because the pain can be so raw when we lose soemone.

    Watching the living
    wither before me,
    has me confronting
    a darkness that I
    have refused to
    accept myself.

    - I think so many of us refuse to accept death with affect us, we do not want to stop and think about it or acknowledge it but then when it hits so close to home, we have no choice but to open our eyes to it which creates a big hole for you to drown in if you do it alone. I think the emotions here is very strong and I can feel a sense of lonliness throughout the lines here too.

    I know nothing
    of how to behave
    when all that I love
    become whispers
    in the wind-

    it's taking my breath away.

    - "whispers in the wind" such a powerful and poetic line and one of that final moment of letting go but then you do not know how to carry on anymore. It is like your mind refuses to connect to your body in order for them both to work.

Really emotioinal poem Maple, very touching and very raw. <3

You know, I hate to even comment on this situation here because it breaks my heart..So I'm going to avoid that and comment on the content of this piece.

I found this to be incredibly beautiful Andrea...Its very sad because its clear death is mentioned in here, but there is something about calling the deceased "whispers in the wind" that almost make death sound peaceful and beautiful..it gives one a sense of closure, because its as if their loved one never left, they are still all around us....

I know its hard to accept that death comes to all, especially those we love, but unfortunately its a part of life, but whats also a part of life is memory..thank goodness for the beautiful memories we can ponder upon and still feel the presence of the ones we love in dreams...
    I love this! Love you!
