Vanishing Point (double tanka)

by Larry Chamberlin   Jan 23, 2013

Ghosts of memories
are manifest in the fog
over the duck pond,
up through scraggled pine branches,
where doves echo their mourning;

the sun is obscured;
pieces of reality
float past spectral arms;
who you are become and where
you have gone is beyond sense.

    The scene you penned here is heartbreaking, Larry. I honestly could feel the silence in that place; the stillness of the surroundings, and how you are just left with memories of what kept that place one alive for you.

    Been a while since a poem had moved me like this one.

    Grear write.
