This is how my life is

I fall in love again and again,
But this time it was with my best friend.

Perfectly happy that's how I was,
And I damn well know that I was the cause.

Although he left we are still friends,
But I still can't believe we came to an end.

I still don't know why this always happens to me,
But I knew it was coming though it's hard to believe.

First comes March which is all love and play,
But once January comes it all goes away.

Year after year it happens every time,
And I can't blame anyone because the fault is always mine.

My life will continue my life will go on,
And who knows, this may be my damn dying song

    I've been through something similar and lucky for me we did stay friends. I think that if you are still friends then you really did get lucky. It's better to have that friend there, then have no one.

    Poem is very nice and can hit close to home with a lot of people.

    This is actually a problem ive found myself trying to avoid in the past; that is to say girls who wanted to be more than friends with me, with which i only wanted to remain friends. often if they make a move it means the death of a friendship - whether because i reject them and they harbor resentment, or because i accept and we become romantically entangled only to break up later, it never ends well.

    the line between friendzone and suitor is blurry and, especially throughout highschool, confusing and frustrating. best of luck
