Are you ok

Are you ok
the words I hear all the time
I smile and say yes
but i really want to say is
define ok
alive yes
happy
um then no
no I'm not ok
I'm dying
and no one cares
im alone
everyones happy
so no I'm not ok
I never will be
but I'll live every day
with a fake smile
saying yes I am

    I believe everyone at some point can relate to this poem. We've all been in a situation where someone asks the dreaded question, "Are you okay?" ... and in return we have to fake a smile and say yes. We don't want them to see us hurt... but we appreciate that they care enough to ask.
