Your Beauty

by Poet on the Piano   Feb 9, 2013

Dear Father, I'm imagining myself anywhere but here...
enveloping visions into my life that I will somehow just
melt away into a fantasy.

Please show me the beauty all around me, because
everything good has been created by you and there
is a multitude of good here.

I think I sometimes choose not to see it.
That would be freeing myself, and I don't always
feel I'm right to do that.

How easy is it for my solitude to turn into grumbling
and how soon will my eyes reach the heavens and
immediately look the other way?

Your beauty is surrounding this imperfect world,
but it's also within us, maybe making my perceptions
just a bit more optimistic and a lot more colorful.

For you are in us all, your beauty is a dawn never
ending, a tide never returning, a love always called
beautiful.

And we are called to realize it...
