I Can No Longer Get Over You [Edited!]

[It was during a harsh moment in my life that I penned this poem down on 11-28-2011]

It was the dawn of a sweet relationship
as our love bloomed like the shinning sun,
light came crystal clear on our friendship
and I knew something new had just begun.

Assuredly, love does not cost a thing
but there is always a price to pay,
it can be expressed in the song we sing,
and sometimes in the words we say.

Your smile always lightened my night
but your grief darkened my day;
tear drops became my plight,
and it flooded my fun away.

I wish it was a different story,
since my world revolved around you,
but then it was too late to say "sorry,"
because I can no longer get over you.

You even gave to me your word,
but suddenly took it back again,
and when you broke off the cord,
oh, you left me in great pain!
