    Amreen,

This is almost a short story, I feel this is your specialty(short stories)?

Very dark indeed, very sad and I know this is how many couples feel when a baby is born: they prefer a boy over a girl:(

    Well done, hun!

A very well written piece Amreen. More story than poem but this is excellent writing!

Yes, it is sad what people do in the name of their beliefs, extinguishing life for no other reason than it is a girl. Of course in the end, there are fewer females left to breed new lives, but that fact never seems to register with these people and that angers me very much indeed.

You have documented this well Amreen in this piece. Well done!

    "Another life she killed
    with the hell which resides
    in her naive soul.

    Her lifeless heart feels content
    for succumbing another hunt
to her deep desire of death.
Yet she owns a tint of restlessness
as she waits for her future prey."

Your opening stanza is a good one. It made me want to know why she would kill another life. In the second stanza, I could picture her like a tiger lurking around trying to capture its prey unawares. Good imagery.

Hmm...what a tragedy. From the third stanza it felt totally different. 5/5

Aww this is really heartbreaking :( reading through it I felt a sadness, You wrote this out really well, its poetic and tells a story. . a sad one at that.

Its just so sad to hear about babies not being born for whatever reason. . . it both makes me sad and mad. . every precious heart should be able to have the chance at life. . .

    Good writing here Amreen :)

This had a pretty fascinating psychological effect on me

i was reading and cognitively aware of the words of the poem but in my head the morphed seamlessly into a story, completely with a euphoric, bittersweet high, soul crushing lows, and all the gritty middles.

i could see every part, imagine the noble family discussing what must be done before harshly executing their plans...

this is a very vivid poem, and a very dark one. while them oral of the story is not as straightforward as one might usually expect, its made up for in that this isnt a 'kids tv show' plot. this is a story with horrific depth, and layers that really make you wonder about mankind

    well done.
