Listening to Thoughts

by tainted melody   Apr 7, 2013

Sitting at the table. Coffee cup in hand.
Listening to rainfall, gracefull as it lands.

Watching out the window, as nature runs it course.
Rhythem seems to soothe me, it has a calming force.

I then begin to ponder, how life has passed me by.
I thought that I was living it, how quickly moments die.

My hands begin to trace ,the tables grooves and grain
I'm having one such moment, that will only bring me pain.

The silence now is deadly, as the stillness takes it toll.
My mind allowed to wander, now losing all control.

Keeping busy keeps me sain, have no time to think.
For when my brain stops swimming my mind begins to sink.

Wow!! I really loved this poem. You took something that happens to all of us and you actually made it into a poem that not only rhymed but was filled with emotion. I thought this was very well written. And no worries. I am gonna try and write again soon. :)

    True poetry!
The poem expresses your feelings so very well and I really enjoyed reading it, and the image that your words painted.

Where there's Understanding, there's grace. As long as you live, you can win. Staying alive, is saving stress. Indeed beautifully worded!

I have this too :). Use your brain to be creative when you're over-thinking things, use the things that slow you down to your advantage! 5/5
