What death can never separate

by Masked metaphor   May 18, 2013

In the eerie depths of my hearts ocean,
Your name screams through the drowning tears of emotion.

Eye lids silently utter what lips cannot reveal
As I travel this dark and lonely road of my memories.

Your face postered on every wall I pass
Imprinting the experiences attached to them.

As I sway up and down on this boat floating on the seas of my soul
I search for a meaning, a path in which my destiny needs to follow.

You were once my flaming torch guiding the way
Then you left me in the darkness, my life on a continual fray.

The answers to my questions, a mirage in the desolated parts of me,
Each time I feel like I'm close to discovery the more I realise they flee.

Your dying voice whispers around me in the air I breathe
I close my eyes and your tearful face is all that I see.

Your heart may have stopped beating
But you continue to live by my side and never retreating.

You remain the hope inside me
The purpose that keeps my heart beating...
Not even death could separate you from my life's meaning

The imagery in here is wonderful, you expressed the scene and emotion perfectly and I love the wording you used and the lines are enchanting, 100/100

This piece, it had that tone of sadness and heartbreak, but the faith and hope was there at the end and the smoothness and wording was beautiful at the same time...
I can relate to so many lines in this, it was penned really well.

    One thing, in this line

"I close my eyes and your tearful face is all I see",

    I would change it to

"I close my eyes and your tearful face is all that I see"

just carries the flow better from the previous line...

Really like this piece though...very emotional write

Throughout this piece you incorporate a sadness, a heartbreak possibly... but in the end it's hopeful... that even in death, that person will still be in the depths of your heart... they are the ultimate meaning for your life and death.

    Great piece!
