Running Blind

by Chloe DeWitt   May 21, 2013

Today was yesterday's dream
Tomorrow is tonight's nightmare
Nobody knows what the future will bring
A beautiful dawn, or perhaps a new king
Your beautiful face, enchanting smile
It's all beginning to fade.
The memories circling in my head,
Images play bloodred.
Feelings running away
I have no way of knowing,
Why won't you just stay?
Is it your new family?
Or my false hope?
That's making me feel this way...
The weight is building up,
Walls bearing chains,
Doors holding locks.
God, where is my brain?
I can't think straight,
I can't concentrate.
I'm losing my mind,
Please help, for I am running blind.
