My Path

by Autumn Leaves   Jun 16, 2013

This path I am upon now
seems familiar, yet it's not,
though previously I could see
what's behind our love horizon.

Thorny bushes and dirt roads
now surround me, though I was
living in a blossoming love land.

Broken glass and empty eyes
confront me and still I can't forget
you were the only creature whose
eyes were filled by no one but me.

Now, the comfort of reality I
no longer have and the
tenderness of a kiss I no longer
share.

Down in a tunnel of self-doubts
I fall where no sounds feel these
sleepy ears except those of the
creepy things that crawl.

Call, so I can awake from this
bad dream. Kiss me so I can find
the girl you used to love and, I know,
she's trapped inside me.

The path of the broken brokenhearted
I finally approached and the silence
has created a desperate spirit that I
can no longer conceal.

The thorns have afflicted me with
wounds, and your words keep hitting
me like broken glass.

Why should every love I have I
incorporate with my past?

Very sad and heartbreaking piece.. I could feel your emotions here as you compare your present with your past and also show the new path of life which has welcomed you to sadness and agony. Loved the detailed words you used to describe every
    bit of the emotion..

    Amazing!!

    Keep writing:)
