In Her Shoes (Double Tetractys)

by Hannah Lizette   Jun 21, 2013

She
whispers
confidence
to the ruby
carnation resting behind her lone ear,
promising that when the music begins
that she will dance
for herself -
not for
him.

    I LOVE this Hannah...

such a beautiful metaphor for independance..relying on ourself and not others to keep us happy...Stop doing for others (who sound like they dont deserve it in this poem) and start doing for ourself, because we deserve the best.

I adore this piece, easy to relate to as a woman who has given herself to boys who now don't matter.

Well done girly. This is beautiful.

I liked this one when I read it in the Contest, for some reason I find it humorous but in another way, I find it uplifting. That is finally time to carry on with her life and do it for her persona. That's how I interpret it.
