Total Depravity (collab)

by Chelsey & Poet on the Piano   Jun 25, 2013

Disease is bound to infect sheets they've all stained
with their impurity. Bed ridden with a sickness called
"loneliness", he medicates himself with companionship-
monthly, yearly, daily.

Same story, different women.

And he always questions why his vacant room
mocks him with a case of Budlight, sparkling and
ready to sink into the hand of a man who
can no longer hold any lover.

Nights like these repeat too often, as his search
starts over again with the still persistent
need to be cured

from a plague that's distorting life.

He cries out to a God he disobeys in hopes
Christ blesses him with some kind of love,
any type of attention; a female dimension
that fits perfectly in his bi-level home, whose
closets have housed more dresses than his
jerseys. More heels than his boots. . .

a home that's accepted and evicted-
women he can't keep.

Again girls, you write so well together and this is another piece that holds meaning and a part of you both. The faith and religious aspect in this is evident and to both of you, very important and that came across strongly.

I'm not sure about the first part, something seems off to me, but can't quite put my finger on it.

    And this part.

He cries out to a God he disobeys in hopes
Christ blesses him with some kind of love,

Seems like there's a word missing somewhere.

Though that may all be typing errors.

I love the story in this and the deeper meaning. As usual you've combined yourselves and written a great piece.

    Awesome ladies :)
