Embark

by onethuscome   Jun 30, 2013

Embark!
this my voyage into new dangers
unwilling that I should go untested
set sail again that I might know
the vast sea and the deep in me

great colossus ocean
I as one light in the universe
but I myself am a universe
behold in me the rarefied of thee

lawless and mighty waves
bring flush to my cheek
I am thoughtless and happy
to endure the strain

Very inspirational write and I so wish I'd seen in while it was still eligible for the weekly contest.

My take on this is you challenging yourself to do new things and finding out just how exciting it can be when you take yourself out of your comfort zone.

We are only as small or as tall as we see ourselves after all.....love the message and the flow was spot on too!

I really liked how in the first two stanzas, the last lines, you had an internal rhyme. I don't think that was intentional, but it really held a good feeling to the tone and flow, and made it a really good read.

You took a topic that is written about so often and typically cliche, but you were able to mold it into a way that makes it creative, unique, and your own. This was a really intriguing write that definitely has me thinking!

Thank you for your kind words.I hope it is taken in such a way that you get a sense of your own enthusiasm;wherever you feel the leaping point into new life is for you cause that's what I was feeling.to celebrate adventure as the ONLY place to get a real sense of yourself.for me that is,finally, the address of the poet;to that place where you feel your own power, your own potential and doing your darndest to stay true to it
