Canada day

by Jenn   Aug 7, 2013

Canada day will always be
My fondest memory.
Coffee made, I was ready for bed,
But you showed up instead.
Called me on the phone,
Said you didn't know where to go.
I ran out to the road,
And stopped you with your high beams on.
Wrapped you up in a warm embrace,
A smile spread across my face.
Many hours spent that night
With such beauty in my sight.
Hours spent just talking,
Which led us into laughing.
We stayed up till 3 am,
You announced you couldn't stay.
I fell in love with your smile,
Hoping you would stay awhile.
I watched you drive away,
Knowing I would see you the next day.
Canada day will always be
My fondest memory.
Because on Canada day,
I gave my heart away.
