Soul Shackles

by Kitty Kurse   Sep 19, 2013

My heart it burns,
my soul dares to yearn-
for your touch.
Mind and self-conflict against this love that I feel.
Tied to my past pains by the only one I love-
My dear beloved son; forgive me!
For I am still at a great loss.

My eyes, they burn;
Sadly a familiar sting.
Oh how I wish this dreadful cloud, of pain from what could have been, be banished.
Leave me; I beg!
For it feels as if I were dying-
day by day.

I've grown so weary and tired.
I fear your love has embedded into my soul, though I cannot free myself from your shackles-
You're what makes Me,
Me
