Princess

by The Lady of Shalott   Oct 28, 2013

I sat beneath the sky today,
and felt it's weight heavy on my head.
I could not find the words to say
just what needed to be said.

I yearn to be yours so badly now,
that I can taste it on my lips...
to have my body brought to life
beneath your loving fingertips...

I love you like no other,
enough to let you go.
How much I truly love you,
you will never know.
There's someone else who needs you more,
and I could never take you from her side.
I would never ask it of you...
not even so I could be your bride.

Once upon a time a lonely, lost little princess
couldn't wait to fall in love...
Little did she dare to dream how the sky would fall, crashing from above.
