Uncurable

by Jenni Marie   Nov 10, 2013

You never think it
will happen to you,
do you?

It's Friday night-pour
another drink, you'll never be
the unlucky one that ends up
with liver disease
will you?

Keep eating fast food, don't
worry about your heart, you'll
never hear the words heart
disease aimed specifically at you,
will you?

Just a quick cigarette, no
thoughts about the future,
because of course you'll
never end up with cancer
will you?

Be just a little promiscuous,
no need to worry about safe sex
because you'll never catch HIV,
will you?

Those type of things don't
happen to you, they always
happen to someone else,
don't they?

Ironic then, that I always
thought the same
only now...

-Now I'm un-curable.
