For Rose #2

by Jenni Marie   Dec 2, 2013

I remember nights gone by,
whispered jokes and stifled
giggles, ignoring the time as
it ticked on by; because our
friendship could never be measured
in terms of night and day, minutes,
seconds and hours. We always had
something more to say to each other.

And even though now, eighteen
months on, we've both grown so
much and even though I don't get
to spend even half of the time I wish
to with you, I simply adore how our
friendship never begins to fade or how
we can go days and weeks with a few
words here and there and yet
-yet when time allows it is like
we were never apart.

And I make this vow: Even when we
are old in years to come, even when we
have gone weeks without so much as a
hello, even when life gets in the way
for months at a time and doesn't allow
us the luxury we first shared upon those
days we first met:

Even then, I'll trust you absolutely,
think about you every day and miss
you always.

{I love you.}
