Airs of Enlightenment

by Arcane Blondie   Dec 5, 2013

It is not every day,
That one is truly enlightened.

Enlightened to happiness,
Enlightened to what it means to be alive.

It always seems like the workings of the world...
They act as a barrier, a stress.

But the workings of the world,
They are the beauty, the here, and the now.

I want to tell you...

About one day I walked without feeling any weight,
The sun itself, personally kissed my skin with gold,
The breeze felt like a clean sheet dancing by my face.

That day I realized happiness,
In a way that I hadn't known since I was a child.

I could see the world as it truly was,
And the world was a playground!

In those ephemeral moments,
I was oblivious to all maliciousness,
Because in my state, such a thing was unbeknownst to me.

If everyone could feel how I felt,
And perceive the clarity in life that was gifted to me,
The world would be a utopia.

I want to tell you...

About one day that will define my life,
For I will capture the wisdom of happiness,
Softly in my surely wrinkled hands.

It will come to me unexpectedly,
As I sit watching the spring flowers bloom,
Unaware of time or selfishness.

I wait for that day,
Patiently, but not lazily,
When I am crowned with life's unrivaled triumph.

Then, with a clear, weightless mind, I will reminisce,
About how an ethereal wind once whispered to me...

"Take the time to step back from mundane pursuits,
And gaze upon life with simple admiration.
Then, together, we will bask in the rush of unadulterated ecstasy."

And thus began my path toward enlightenment, truth, freedom.
