Just another Christmas

by Alanis   Dec 25, 2013

As matchbox houses glittered the scene,
So christmas was in the air. There was no
Physical differentiation between this day and any
Other, but a certain twist could be felt in the cool
Winter air. Joyous giggles and dissapointed cries
Filled the air in a wave of uncertainty. The crunching
Of snow underfoot lead me to believe that small things
Could provide utmost amusement. I was nothing but
A spectator, watching gifts be passed from innocent to
Innocent. Grand christmas trees are witness to the glory
Of such a scene, and so another christmas surpassed expectations.

This is a sad and loving poem at the same time. The sad tones are filled with a not loving family or this persons idea. It seems like Christmas is not a special day for this person. I liked the double side to it though. The start of it is sad but as the day goes on it starts to get a little better each time. Overall this is a lovely write that as a lot of meaning. I can see both of sides of this and the imagery is simple and vivid. Great wording as well. :)
