The Fence

by Joseph Boadi   Dec 28, 2013

Its much of a want and less of a need
Thrice kissed my want nd my heart thus bleed
But it puts my mind at ease
With each desire it does please

My need i'll neva wed
Its such a greybeard,toothless head
But its a young nd handsome man
And such a beauty our marriage grand

Gathered all my penny as bet placed
All their goods on them in haste
And with many a woeful tear i cried
Wishing it was my need i satisfied

Lovely write though I couldn't grasp the depth of it all as to my wish so I'll read more of it again.

Thanx fr checking it out,but its meaning is quite deeper, the poem is about satisfying a want and a need, obviously we prefer to satisfy our wants because its adhoc and pressing but at the long run its the needs that are more important and long term solves the problem,The persona clearly undastnds but the desire to address a want is more calling,he places his bets on satisfying a want and he realizes it was more prudent attempting to satisfy his needs. This piece is only trying to draw to our notice a difference that lies between a want/need.thank u

It's good, just needs some cleaning up with grammar and spelling.
