Wishes of Peace

by Maple Tree   Dec 31, 2013

My eyes do not vision
madness and destruction
the way he does.

His sorrow is read in the inky
tear lines of words etched
onto parchment.

He loves in a world of darkness,
as I remain perched in a tree
high within another country's
view, but I feel his tears
in friendship unexplained,
only in poetry can I feel his
whispers.

He is a young man caught in a war zoned
nightmare, never alone however-
in A Bed of stars he wishes for peace,
as I too light candles for the exact
same thing..

I write this in compassion and friendship,
his eyes are too young to see the things
he views on a daily basis.. but I write this
for him.. he is not alone.

For my dear friend Abed- May your wishes come true this New Year ~

I love this piece, the tone is stunningly created and theres more than friendship and peace here, theres hints of most emotions. I love the strength and kindness portrayed by the word choice. You really created a wonderful piece that a lot of people can enjoy even with the dedication, which is a lovely dedication by the way.
