Naked winter trees
drifting further from the sun;
hope will never grow.

    I absolutely love this. Naked winter trees, that is how nature actually works. The cold is draining the life out of them. The need the sun to warm up and come back to life but since they drift further away there is no hope indeed. Excellent and powerful message.

    Ahh, winter does that a lot doesn't it. Bring out the hopelessness into the world as well as into the hearts of all.

    Naked winter trees

    ^^The use of the word naked is enough to show how once a flourished life is stripped of its dignity!

    drifting further from the sun;
    hope will never grow.

    ^^During winter the sun comes out yet its brilliance is hard for it to reach earth. Its like the helping hand of God is untouched by earth..I like this image...nicely penned.

    Again I feel like the title goes perfect with the poem. Another metaphor one I feel too. I believe here you are the tree or this character is the tree. Winter is a metaphor about being sad or depressed and your heart or emotions feel naked or empty. Naturally I feel like the sun is happiness and of course if you feel sad or "winter" you will be falling away from happiness. I believe again the last line is perfect because it sums up the poem and what you wanted to say. The "plot or point" of the poem is you feel sad and feel like there is no hope left. This poem is perfect and I truly enjoyed comparing your emotions to the winter time. Beautiful!
