Autumn I long for you...

by Marcus blake   Feb 12, 2014

You held me like that of a child
soft and calm I wished for the comfort of your smile
and though the world was cruel
In little time I grew to be a fool
They say that my fate was written long ago
Before I could understand language read time
I always wondered about the clouds
The moon...
Infatuated with shooting stars
Blue skies too far from my reach
I've been writing in this book to keep memories alive
So when I die
My footprint will be more than a dead body in a grave
I always said I wanted to be remembered
Like the dead poets I'd read about in books
I've been counting the stars to nowhere
But through the cluster of heaven
I always seem to lose count among gods
I've been singing old songs
The same old songs of love she use to sing
Old days I barley remember but for her these songs I sing
hoping to waking whats left of this heart
I find my self starring at the sunset
The cold night
Street lights that illuminate everything in this world
my darkness will never cease to be but my nightmares
Those I pry end sooner than later
Cause I've been searching for some peace of mind
Crying from this heart of mine
Cause my tears have all but dried up
Like death in autumn...

"There's nothing we really don't know; just the idea of the unknown..."
