Light At The End Of The Tunnel

by Maher   Feb 18, 2014

Could you shoot me along the blaze of a star?
Let me carve life away to the sound of your heart
I can feel the sweet moon trace her path through the sky
Gently holding the sea like mother and child

Could you fall into time and pass us all by?
Live this day after day 'till the day that you die
Start to whisper those words that would play in my ears
Find their way to my mind, all to dwell there for years

Could you lift this death stricken curse from my back?
So I may turn things around and gain all that I lack
Like a blacksmith of dreams who dispels their believers
Caught in the eb and flow of this cold, barren ether

Try to trace me the steps of an innocent child
A path I constantly walked when life was once mild
Through the eyes of the young, everything burns bright
While the eyes of the elders find it two shades from white

Paint me an abstract of my mellowest dreams
Make them colourful and bold, all the happiest themes
Steer away from the nightmares that fall darker than death
Try to capture your soul and hold firm to your breath

I can bring down the sun, the moon and the Fall
I can hold all life's treasures from dusk 'till dawn
I can take on a nation of demons and slaves
But I can't stop my smile after seeing your face

Ahhhh, this is so sweet and the last line gives this whole poem the meaning of love and its delights. The one love that carries you through...lovely read.
