A travelling heart

by lillie   Apr 10, 2014

I remember the smile I painted upon your face.
When the poison injected in me gave me away, with grace.

It was perfect, the moment so still, silence with thrill.
Your lips interlocked with mine, you went in for the kill.

A thousand clips played inside my mind.
One single thought replayed, a love like this was hard to find.

Your smile was genuine, I painted it upon your face.
Whatever pain you had suffered was gone, no trace.

You were wounded by one, but you found me, the antidote to solve it all.
I was the bandaid, I was the healer, for when you fall.

But I remember the energy, the way you looked me in the eye.
As you said, " I am falling in love with you", it was no lie.

But I smiled and swallowed the words I couldn't say.
In fact I had fallen in love with you, in the same way.

But the alcohol had me thinking, and my feelings were true.
After all this time, my heart travelled, only leading me to you.
