God's Treasure

by Darlene   Apr 16, 2014

As I reflect on memories passed
I realize that I have much to be thankful for
As a child, I was richer than most
Even though we didn't have much

I had more love than most children
I had lessons learned that will never be forgotten
I have memories that can never be replaced
I had time never lost

As my childhood innocence gave way to sin
I found myself on paths I thought would never end
Except in pain and disappointment
Paths I thought I could not change

Then one Sunday morning as I sat in church
I heard the most beautiful song
And I found the most beautiful treasure of all
He called me, He knew my name

I gave my heart to God and I want to express
The emotions that flooded my very being
No amount of gold nor silver could ever
Compare to my new found treasure

Rich emotions of live and forgiveness
A treasure I could not see nor touch
A treasure that filled my heart
And warmed my soul

My faith has been tested
My service to him often compromised
But God is my coat of Armor, my strength
I can do all things through him.

God truly is the best treasure in the world
A treasure I never had to search for
It was always there, I only had to accept it
