Bruised lips

by DirtRoadGirl   Apr 20, 2014

Bruised lips tell a story,
that my voice never could.
The faded colours scream their glory,
deep purples speaking things I knew I should.

Deep purples that have long since faded,
the last few marks of a passionate kiss,
that broke my heart and made it jagged.
Those bruised lips I really miss.

Bruised lips from loving you,
a lasting love I believed was true.
A temptation I once knew,
The deep purples lost when we were through.

These painted lips tell a story,
that my voice never will.
The faded colours have lost their glory,
Deep purples of gloss speaking secrets I wish for still.
