Death is a Magical Love

by Maple Tree   May 18, 2014

She adorns a gentle swagger,
as her hips dance under a moonlit
evening.

Lovers inviting eyes can only be seen
within memories, dusting lips with
supple kisses and fragrant smells
of fallen rose petals.

Upon a stormy night fall
she hears the echoes of
his whispers,
only to find comfort
of his breath upon her skin.

Shadows cloak an ageless
love,
skirting upon curtains they fly
away from a soul mates caged
destiny-

A love forever powerful and yet
so delicate,
can be etched and sealed
like a ribbon around the moon.

This is a beautiful, heart breaking, and truly talented piece of writing from you, Andrea - and incredibly personal, I know.
The imagery throughout is wonderful - particularly in stanza 4.
All the best and take care,
    Ben

This poem is very beautiful Andrea! Your struggles are always real and I can tell that through your poetry. The use of nature here adds a very nice touch. No one can see love like two lovers and no matter what any one else thinks that's all that matters. I believe the message of this poem is that even in death or pain, love can shine through and the memories you share will always be in your heart. I think my favorite line here is about soul mates. Because that tells me this is true love. You always shine through pain. Nominated.

I cannot comment through the tears Andrea, but you know my heart hurts for you and James through your struggles but the love you two share IS magical. And you will always be together, wherever you are.

Love the raw and honest emotion in this piece, coupled with the imagery...
