Comments : My Prayer

Many times, I have heard about praying to god and making a deal, though the prayer that had the biggest impact on me was the one I heard, where one does not ask to be heal but to actually just put the viruses and diseases to sleep until its finally our time to leave off earth onto another journey.

It makes me wonder, what's the different and what effect it could have? though yes, faith does sustain us, always. Keep writing Sylvia and being as strong as your are.

Not sure how to explain but it seems that asking God for instance, "God if you will do YZYZYZZ I will do YZYZYZZ" would be considered making a deal with God, or God heal me sounds selfish. For some reason I had always understood that prayer was not for making deals or asking for things for yourself. When I pray about my health, I say that I am grateful for the improvement I am seeing and that I pray it continues. I don't "make deals", I thank God for the things He has done for me and that I am thankful. I offer prayers for my family and friends.

I think if a person "prays for a deal or asks for things for themselves", they will be disillusioned when they do not receive them and will become angry with God for not answering those prayers.

Oops, I meant to say that where one asks for someone else's viruses and diseases to be put to sleep in the meantime. The idea of making a deal came up from the second line of your poem. XD

Which left me thinking about deals.

Prayer in itself is a medicine and when its heartfelt God does grant the very boon we ask. It may not be immediate but it will come. A nice short yet tender prayer of a heart.
