Surrender my Smile

by Meena Krish   May 30, 2014

I hear only your memory
and see those unsaid moments,
feel the heaviness rain
when I hold your floral shawl,
your departure created an empty space
a play ground just for pain,
I can't keep but surrender my smile
knowing I'll never see you again.

I walk in your sadness, and it covers me with every word used to express it.

It is really sad Meena. You can almost see the smile disappearing. Can feel the heaviness of the pain and see the image of a person holding that scraf. The images and emotions are strong and your words make them real.

~ Deeply sad poem and very expressive. Only the memory keeps things together and ended with the yearning to see again that lost loveone. Thank you for sharing.

    Sadness,

the sadness is felt in this poem. And reading through it, I wonder if a smile is truly an indication of happiness or if we just like to believe it or if there are other ways to express it without a smile. Take Care.
